KELLY BROWN – Teen Inver Grove Heights, was crowned MISS TEEN MINNESOTA 2016 on April 30th in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she met other County/City titleholders from across the state to showcase the “Accomplishments of Today's Teen”.
MISS TEEN MINNESOTA, KELLY BROWN speaks on her platform “ See the Person…Not the Disability! Kelly’s two brothers were born with intellectual disabilities as a result of a blood disorder called “thalassemia”. My brother Tony is higher functioning but Viny has difficulty communicating. It is hurtful and frustrating when I see others only focus on their disabilities, which is what they have but not who they are. By partnering with The Arc organization, it is my goal to protect the rights of those with disabilities and support their inclusion and participation in our community. Kelly believes EVERY person deserves the chance to reach their full potential! For more information go to: www.thearc.org
Kelly and her family reside in Inver Grove Heights. Kelly’s hobbies include Card tricks, Recently took up boxing self-professed black belt in bargain shopping, drawing classes, Athlectic trainer for Simley HS lacrosses team, and making “creative visualization” boards.
